Nordic Network for Lifelong Learning
How do you create the best conditions for a conference or seminar to successfully set a clear, ambitious strategic direction?
You bring in professionals from across the Nordic region for a strategy seminar and invite Gry Guldberg from Transforming and Mikkel Pilgaard from Estuary Agency to lead and provide strategic input into the sustainability agenda.
The task
The Nordic Network for Lifelong Learning (NLL) brought together professionals from across the Nordic region in November 2024 to evaluate the results from the previous period (2021–2024) and define a strategic direction for the next phase leading up to 2030.
The goal is to realise Vision 2030, which aims to create "the most sustainable and integrated region in the world," launched by the Nordic Council of Ministers and the Nordic Prime Ministers in 2019.
The solution
To support the process, Gry Guldberg and Mikkel Pilgaard Madsen (Estuary Agency) were invited to contribute with facilitation and strategic consulting:
Gry Guldberg led a session dedicated to reviewing and acknowledging the results from the previous period (2021-2024), ensuring that the learnings were integrated into the upcoming strategic work.
Mikkel Pilgaard provided strategic input for the development of an evidence-based definition of sustainability, which will support the work in the next phase.
The result
Over 100 representatives from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Finland, the Åland Islands, the Faroe Islands, and Greenland participated in the seminar.
The participants shared experiences and established a common understanding of their next steps towards Vision 2030. The work continues with a focus on strengthening Nordic collaboration and creating concrete actions that support the vision's goals.
